Michelle Obama meets Sikh shooting victims’ families…

Mandeep Singh Khattra and his family received Michelle Obama with an embrace Thursday as the first lady consoled relatives of worshippers gunned down earlier this month at a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee. Obama spent nearly 90 minutes visiting with the Khattras and other families of Sikh worshippers who were killed or injured in the shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin. She expressed her sympathies, offered support and listened to many stories about victims.

“She gave us a hug and said, ‘I’m sorry for what happened,’” said Khattra, 26, whose grandfather, Suveg Singh Khattra, was one of six people killed Aug. 5. “She asked what kind of person he was, and my dad told her he was always good-natured, always at the temple.”

Relatives of the victims said afterward that Obama asked informed questions that showed she had read up on the plight of those killed and injured. She especially seemed to know the story of Satwant Singh Kaleka, the temple president who tried to stab the gunman with a butter knife in an effort to stall him so women and children in the temple would have time to hide. Read full story here…First lady Michelle Obama greets Sikh temple secretary of the board of trustees Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, left, and Oak Creek, Wis. Online dating: UK site lets kids set parents up…

Online DatingYou may ask your kids for their thoughts on music, that new outfit or what to have for dinner … but on who to date? That’s the premise behind myLovelyParent, a new online dating website for people 50 and older based in Britain. The site was created by two brothers (one is 34, the other in his early 40s) who want to help their “very lovely single mum in her 60s” find “handsome chaps” for friendship or companionship. According to their blog chronicling the new website’s beginnings, it’s an idea that’s sat with them for awhile:

“…we’re trying to open up the world of online dating to our parents’ generation. They’re a generation who, on the whole, are less digitally proficient, less accepting of social networking (in its most literal sense) and who are incredibly discrete when it comes to matters of the heart. …There are plenty of people out there who don’t want to be alone. And we believe, through digital, we can bring them together”. Read full story here…

Meet Mo Farrah‘s twin brother separated at age 8…

The twin brother of Britain’s Olympic gold medal hero Mo Farah has spoken for the first time about how they were torn apart as boys amid the chaos of civil war in Somalia. In a heartbreaking story of a childhood fractured by violence and turmoil, Hassan Farah has revealed he and Mo had such a close bond that they slept in the same bed and shared food from the same plate. The pair were so strikingly similar that teachers and even friends confused one for the other. But the boys were forced to say goodbye at the age of eight when their parents made the agonising decision to send three of their six children, including Mo, to Britain for a chance of a better life. It was a wrench neither of them has forgotten and it was a full 12 years until the twins saw each other again. Read full story here…

WFP and the Hunger Games movies inspired teenage humanitarians…

What does it mean to be a humanitarian? This World Humanitarian Day, organizations and celebrities alike will encourage you to celebrate the people in your community working to improve the lives of others. We wanted to introduce you to two teenage humanitarians in the seventh grade who set out to end hunger. They showed us that being a humanitarian has nothing to do with how old you are. It’s about using your voice to inspire others. Meet Savannah and Michaela. The book series The Hunger Games got Savannah and Michaela thinking about what they could do to make a difference – and they resolved one day over lunch to start a school campaign to fight hunger.

Both active volunteers in their community; they already knew how to make a difference. The challenge, they knew, would be getting their classmates excited about fighting hunger. However, an online partnership between WFP, Feeding America and The Hunger Games movie provided easy inspiration. “We both wanted to make a difference with this huge issue that is all around us but that no one ever talks about,” Michaela said.Read full story here…

Facebook finally deletes photos…

Facebook Deleted PhotosFacebook has finally forgotten about that drunken night in college when you vomited on that one friend who never talked to you again. Any deleted photo from that episode, or any photo deleted by users for whatever reason, has finally been removed from the social network’s servers, it appears. (Now if only your friend could permanently forget about the incidence too.) Since 2009, Ars Technica’s Jacqui Cheng has doggedly tracked how long it takes big photo-sharing sites to permanently delete photos after a user hits “Delete.” Her method was simple: save a photo’s URL, delete the photo and wait to see how long it takes for the link to die. For Twitter and Flickr, it took seconds. For MySpace (remember that?), it took months. But for Facebook, Cheng found it could take years. Read full story here…

Look! It’s the Obamas

It’s no secret that Michelle Obama loves color (hence, our semi-obsessive infographic), but it looks like she’s managed to get the rest of the Obama family on board with her color scheme of the day.

While heading to St. John’s Episcopal Church this morning, the first family was snapped all wearing shades of blue. Michelle, always the fashion risk-taker, opted for a blue-gray a-line dress and a cropped jacket.

Daughters Malia and Sasha both wore a brighter shade of the color (but 14-year old Malia added a blazer for a mature touch, obvi). And, of course, President Obama kept it traditional in a navy blue suit and a powder blue tie. Click here to read full story and view additional photographs…

“Our voting process shouldn’t accommodate black voter…”

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted’s recent decision to prohibit early voting on nights and weekends in all districts has many concerned about the effect on voter turnout in the state, particularly among low-income and minority communities. But one Republican Party chairman is content to suppress votes among this vulnerable demographic. Doug Preisse, chairman of the Republican Party in Franklin County, which contains the city of Columbus, admitted in an email to the Columbus Dispatch that black voters would now have a more difficult time voting:

“I guess I really actually feel we shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban — read African-American — voter-turnout machine. Let’s be fair and reasonable.”

Preisse was one of the board of elections members who blocked Democratic efforts in Franklin County to expand voting hours to evenings and weekends. According to the Dispatch, he called claims of unfairness “bullshit. Quote me!” Read full article here…

Vanessa Bryant: “Please stop misquoting me…”

Vanessa Bryant claims she’s not a shallow gold-digging, championship-hoarding basketball wife … insisting she would have married Kobe Bryant even if he NEVER won an NBA title. Bryant is finally responding to critics who skewered her for the interview she did with New York Magazine in which she said, “I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships.”

Now, Vanessa tells TMZ … “I’m sad to hear that comments in my New York Magazine interview are being misconstrued and taken out of context. I have and will continue to support my husband’s dreams.”Vanessa continues, “I have been with Kobe for 13 years. I accepted his marriage proposal PRIOR to him winning any of his 5 championships with his teammates.””For anyone to think otherwise is wrong. People frustrated by demands of voter ID…

Marian Berkley has managed to make it through her first 83 years without a state-issued photo ID. But after last week’s ruling in Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court upholding a new law that will require voters to present certain government-approved IDs at the polls in November, Berkley has decided she must get one.

Berkley, a retired factory worker, found herself sifting through personal documents with voting rights activist Karen Buck to get in order the vital records she’ll need to acquire a state ID so she can vote.

Most of Berkley’s necessary documents were in place — a birth certificate noting that she was born on a farm in Delaware, a Social Security card and utility bills in her name. She still needs to track down her marriage certificate to certify that her last name changed. Read full story here…

Happy 66th birthday Mr. President

He was once the most powerful man in the world with a demanding and complicated job. But for Bill Clinton, it seems the simple pleasures in life now bring him most joy.

The former president celebrated his 66th birthday yesterday by taking his beloved dog for an early morning stroll. Clinton woke up at dawn to take his chocolate-colored Labrador Retriever Seamus for a walk on the beach in East Hampton, New York.

Wearing a black T-shirt and shorts, the former President looked relaxed and happy as he took a stroll. Fellow walkers also stopped him to say hello and wish him happy birthday, much to his delight.

This year’s appeal was endorsed by singer Jon Bon Jovi on his own website:

“Over these many years that I’ve been privileged to know Bill Clinton, I’ve admired him as both a President and a diplomat,” Bon Jovi said. “I, like many others, have been inspired by him and his relentless efforts to improve the lives of others around the globe through his philanthropic work.”

Here’s wishing you many more. Read more here...

George Clooney – the President’s friend…

President Barack Obama says actor George Clooney is a good friend and a good person who is sensitive about protecting that friendship. Obama says Clooney is low-maintenance and doesn’t take advantage of their friendship. He says Clooney keeps his distance so that Obama won’t be criticized for hanging out with Hollywood celebrities.

First lady Michelle Obama said of Clooney: “He’s cute, too.”

In May, Clooney held a fundraiser for Obama at his Los Angeles home that raised nearly $15 million. Clooney is scheduled to hold another fundraiser for Obama later this month in Geneva. Obama tells Entertainment Tonight in an interview airing Monday that he got to know Clooney through his work on Sudan when Obama was in the U.S. Senate. The 29-year-old from Yiewsley, West Drayton, arrived in the UK as a stowaway in 2003 and used at least five aliases and claimed to be from four different countries. But last year a High Court Judge ruled he had been unlawfully held in prison while immigration officials tried to establish where he came from so they could deport him. Rapper Eve ‘Rocks The Bells’…

Before KolorBlind queen Eve hit the stage at Rock the Bells in San Bernardino this past Saturday at the tour’s kickoff, the rapper promised Rolling Stone she was there to make an impression:

“If you weren’t my fan, I’m gonna make you a fan once I leave the stage,” she told us. “That, to me, is exciting.”

She performed a few new songs, including “She Bad Bad,” from her forthcoming Lip Lock album, her first since 2002’s Eve-Olution, which at the time was her third straight top 10 album. After a decade’s absence from recording, during which she focused on acting (including her own sitcom, Eve), she views this new album as a rejuvenation of her career.

“I’ve been telling people – and this is the truth – I almost feel like a new artist myself,” she said. “I’m so excited about my new music. I love performing anyway, I feel comfortable on stage. It does feel like a rebirth.”

She gave Rolling Stone a preview of some of the tracks and collaborators on Lip Lock, due next year. Read full story here…

Meet TV One’s R&B Divas…

With criticism and cries for petitions against “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” running rampant, a black network is hoping their positive programming will draw viewers away from trashy television and attract them to their family friendly TV show.

Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Syleena Johnson, Monifah and Keke Wyatt will star as the “R&B Divas” this fall on TV One and are promising no fighting, drink-throwing or bickering. Instead, “R&B Divas” will strive to keep viewers entertained by telling the stories of the women as they work on their careers and deal with family life.

The series is eight episodes long and will show the divas not only working on their individual singing careers but working as a quintet on a Whitney Houston charity album. ”

‘R&B Divas’ was created to help instigate balance. We are mothers, wives [and] positive women first,” says Nicci Gilbert about the show.” ‘R&B Divas’ will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that we can captivate an audience without hurting them.”

“R&B Divas” premiered Aug. 20 on TV One following an episode of “Unsung.”

Interesting to note is that two of the R&B divas are multiracial. Faith Evans is of African-American and Caucasian descent and Keke Wyatt is of African-American, West Indian, Cherokee and Caucasian descent.

Check out a video clip of the divas discussing the show:

Meet Awkward Black Girl: Season 2…

Season one ends before the scene resolves, but really, the humor is all in the getting there. “Awkward Black Girl, ” whose second season began last month, is full of sharp, pointillist humor that’s extremely refreshing.

Most of the first season, which began early in 2011, was devoted to J’s tug-of-war affections for Fred (Madison T. Shockley III), a black co-worker who seemed unattainable, and Jay (Lyman Johnson), his slightly goofy friend, whom J calls White Jay for obvious reasons.

There were also difficulties at work, and struggles to make friends, as J sought other “awkward” people in hopes of connecting. The episodes grew longer — to 10 minutes or more, from just a few — and more confident over the course of the season, aided by money that was raised through a Kickstarter campaign. Read more on Awkward Black Girl and watch a clip below.

What I find most fascinating about the online comedy series is the fact that it showcases an interracial relationship and some of the hang-ups involved. This is a must watch. Check out a clip below…

Mo Farah (coach: Alberto Salazar) will headline an impressive list of 16 gold medallists and 42 medallists overall from the London Olympics that will take to the track this Sunday as the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix returns to the Birmingham Alexander Stadium.

Great Britain’s double Olympic champion Farah will be part of an array of world-class stars as he lines up to race over 2 miles at the UK’s final Samsung Diamond League event of the year. Having already broken the British indoor 2 mile record earlier this year, Steve Ovett’s outdoor British record of 8:13.51 will likely come under threat.

Farah wrote his name in the history books as he became the first British man to win Olympic gold in the distance events, taking victory in both the 5,000m and 10,000m. The 29-year-old is looking forward to entertaining the sold-out crowd again in Birmingham.

“I’m looking forward to coming back to the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix. It was a special atmosphere there last year and another victory would be great. It’s a big year for athletics in the UK. The crowd has really got behind me on home soil in 2012, and I’m sure they’ll be in high spirits to cheer on the returning Olympic contingent in Birmingham.” Read full story here…

Romney: “Shop around or borrow money from your parents…”

President Barack Obama accused rival Mitt Romney of being oblivious to the burdens of paying for college on Tuesday, telling young voters in battleground Ohio that his opponent’s education policies amount to nothing more than encouraging them to tap their parents for money or “shop around” for the best deal.

“This is his plan. That’s his answer to a young person hoping to go to college — shop around and borrow more money from your parents if you have to. Not only is that not a good answer, it’s not even an answer,” Obama said at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno.

Turning to young voters, a key part of his 2008 coalition, the president sought to draw a bright line with Romney on education policy in his latest attempt to meld Romney with the House Republican budget blueprint offered Rep. Paul Ryan, Romney’s running mate. Read full story here and watch the video clip of Romney addressing students…

Confessions of an Obama Campaign Widow…

In the spring of 2007, Laura Moser’s new husband Arun Chaudhary signed up to be the videographer with then-senator Obama’s presidential campaign. Moser says she became a “campaign widow.” She was alone at home with a crying baby while Obama gave romantic tips to her hubby, who has written a new book: First Cameraman: Documenting the Obama Presidency in Real Time.

I was a campaign widow. My husband and I were married in May 2007 on a sprawling rent-a-ranch in the Texas Hill Country. On the drive from Houston, we’d stopped off for our marriage license in the former produce aisle of a Winn Dixie turned courthouse in San Marcos and from there drove off the grid. Halle Berry‘s custody battle continues…

Halle Berry Gabriel Aubry Custody BattleHalle Berry and ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry are still battling in court over custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, as the Oscar-winning actress is seeking to move the child with her to Paris out of concerns for their safety.

Berry is engaged to French actor Olivier Martinez, and she filed a request in family court for permission to move to France, but RadarOnline reports that it’s unlikely the Oscar-winning actress will be able to make the move.

According to the website, the child custody report recommends that Nahla “shouldn’t be separated from her father,” and that will be a big factor for the judge to consider when he makes his ruling.

A source explained that the report makes it clear that separation from Aubry would be detrimental to Nahla, as he is a huge part of her life. Read full story here…

Fashion’s most powerful women 2012 (Forbes’)

Forbes Most Powerful WomenForbes Most Powerful Women 2012: List Puts Anna Wintour Below Diane Von Furstenberg, Angela Ahrendts!

Who is the most powerful woman in fashion? Ask most people and they’ll say Anna Wintour. The editor-in-chief of Vogue runs arguably the most important fashion magazine in the world, launched the biggest shopping event known to man with Fashion’s Night Out and has a hand in what everyone wears each season. (Remember the scene in “The September Issue” where she literally tells Stefano Pilati what to design?)

And yet on Forbes’ Most Powerful Women 2012 list, released today, two fashion bigwigs sit above Wintour. Diane Von Furstenberg ranks highest out of any fashion industry exec, at #33. At #45 is Angela Ahrendts, the CEO of Burberry Group. It’s the money-makers, not the taste-makers, who truly hold the power. Read full story here…

Top 5 most offensive women’s health comments made by out of touch Politicians…

Todd Akin’s offensive comments about “legitimate rape” on Sunday touched off a huge firestorm. Unfortunately, his comments are not isolated rants from one bad apple — the sad reality is this incident was by no means a “one-off.”

For years politicians have been attempting to redefine rape, insinuating that women make false claims in order to access emergency contraception or receive a safe and legal abortion.

Unfortunately, we don’t have to go far to find outrageous statements from politicians on this issue. Here are the top five worst comments from this year alone. Click here to check out the 5 most offensive comments made.

Interracial dating in America movie trailer…

I came across this movie trailer the other day and thought I’d share. Interracial dating in america was the hottest independent film of 2007. It was featured on the Michael Baisden show, Michael Eric Dyson show, Tom Joyner, as well as, hundreds of screenings and local news shows throughout the country.

The producers of the film have decided to re-visit this topic for the final time with Interracial Dating In America Uncovered (Going Deeper). We are looking to explore the challenges that interracial couples go through from family, friends, and even their jobs. Has it gotten better since 2005? Is it the same, or is it worst?

Watch a clip of the movie trailer below and let us know what you think…

Obama re-election could lead to civil war say Texas judge…

Tom Head, a county judge in Lubbock, Texas, plunged far out into the periphery of anti-President Barack Obama conspiracy theories on Monday, pushing a particularly outrageous one as justification for a tax increase in the county.

Head told FOX34 that Lubbock’s law enforcement needed extra tax dollars in order to be prepared for a full-scale uprising, which he said could be a byproduct of Obama’s reelection. According to Head, the president is seeking to sign a variety of United Nations treaties that will effectively take precedent over domestic law.

“He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens?” Head asked. “I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.” Read full story here…

Rock Legend to Romney: “Stop playing my song”…

Dee Snider Paul RyanTwisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has asked Republican vice presidential running mate Paul Ryan’s camp not to play his hit song, “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”

Snider says in a statement that he does not support Ryan and denounced use of the song, an anthemic 1984 hit for the glam metal band. It joins a long list of songs that musicians have asked politicians to stop using. Most recently, the rock band Silversun Pickups asked likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney to stop using the song “Panic Switch” last week. The campaign said the song’s use was inadvertent. The raucous annual parade is a heavily policed event. It’s one of the city’s largest outdoors events and has been marred by violence in some years. Three shootings were tied to the parade in 2011, and police seized 14 guns during the celebration the night before the parade.

Police spokesman Paul Browne tells The New York Times that among the 17 employees were four police officers who still face departmental trials on charges of “conduct prejudicial to the good order of the police department.” Read full story here…Revelers dance by police officers during the West Indian-American Day Parade September 5, 2011 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. Obama: Akin somehow missed science class…

President Obama couldn’t resist getting a dig into Rep. Todd Akin and the Republican’s comment that women could prevent pregnancy in cases of “legitimate rape.”

“The interesting thing here is this individual is on the House Science and Technology Committee but somehow missed science class,” Obama told donors at a New York City event last night. “But it’s representative of a desire to go backwards instead of forwards. And fights that we thought were settled 20, 30 years ago.”

Akin has apologized for his comments made Sunday about rape and the abortion rights of its victims. Read full story here…

Todd Akin’s remarks on rape may help clarify…

Like any sentient person, I was appalled by Missouri Republican Congressman Todd Akin’s comments about “legitimate rape.” I was shocked by the Limbaugh-ian proportions of his ignorance about the female reproductive system (“in cases of legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down”) and remain flabbergasted that he hasn’t caved in to party pressure to quit his Senate campaign.

But unlike the many people proclaiming their outrage on Facebook and Twitter, I’m actually grateful to Akin. And not, as many liberals have sneeringly gloated, because he has effectively dug his entire party into a hole that it might need a NASA-built escape capsule to get out of. Read full story here…

Microsoft changes logo after 25 years…

Microsoft’s logo has a new look, setting the stage for a wave of products designed to cast the world’s largest software maker in a new light.
The makeover unveiled on Thursday marks the first time that Microsoft has revamped its logo since February 1987. The Internet was barely around then, and cellphones were considered a luxury.

At the time, Microsoft was putting the finishing touches on the second version of its Windows operating system. Two of Microsoft’s biggest nemeses – Google Inc. co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin – were just 13 years old. And Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs was just in the second year of an 11-year exile from the company that went on to invent the iPod, iPhone and iPad after he returned. Read full story here…

Empire Building Shooting…

Empire State Building Shooting

A recently fired store worker shot a former colleague to death and then randomly started shooting others near the Empire State Building before he was shot by police officers, law enforcement officials said.

Eight other people were struck by bullets when the shooting started at about 9 a.m. on the Fifth Avenue side of the building but those injuries are not believed to be life threatening, police said.

The two law enforcement officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter. They said the gunman previously worked at a store inside the landmark skyscraper.

Crowds of tourists and people on their way to work gathered along 34th Street, which was shut down by police. Police helicopters buzzed overhead and swarms of officers were gathered around the crime scene. Jeffrey Johnson responsible for Empire State Building shooting..

The former co-worker was identified by the police as Steve Ercolino. A woman who worked with Mr. Ercolino and has a job in the same building as him said she was walking shoulder to shoulder with Mr. Ercolino when he got shot.

The woman, Irene Timan, 35, said they were just steps from the front door to their building at 10 West 33rd Street when she saw Mr. Johnson lurking behind a white van parked at the curb. Johnson had just recently been evicted and took his frustration and anger out of Ercolino who fired him a year ago.

“I saw him pull a gun out from his jacket, and I thought to myself, ‘Oh my God, he’s going to shoot him’ — and I wanted to turn and push Steve out of the way,” Ms. Timan said, in a telephone interview from the precinct house where she was being interviewed. “I knew it, I just knew it was going to happen. But it was too late. Steve screamed, Jeff shot him, and I just turned and ran” recalls Tilman Read full story here…

Romney makes sarcastic ‘birther’ joke directed at President Obama

Mitt Romney, who has decried the nasty personal tone of the presidential campaign, seemed to make a joke about President Obama’s birth certificate while speaking to voters here Friday, re-injecting the issue of the president’s birthplace into the campaign.

“Now I love being home in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born,” Mr. Romney said, standing alongside his wife, Ann, and his running mate, Representative Paul D. Ryan. “Ann was born in Henry Ford Hospital. I was born in Harper Hospital. No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

Mr. Obama, who was born in Hawaii and shared his birth certificate with the national media, has long been dogged with “birther” rumors, from those who falsely question where he was actually born in the United States.Read full story here…

Oh no! Lana Del Ray’s tracks leaked…

Four new Lana Del Rey tracks have made their way online, just as the deluxe edition of her early 2012 album Born To Die looms for a fall release.

Unreleased Del Rey tunes “Afraid,” “Big Bad Wolf” and “Playing Dangerous” leaked online Thursday. The breathy singer croons on the tracks, once again invoking the Nancy Sintra persona that has followed her since her “Video Games” debut.

In June, Del Rey performed new track “Body Electric” for a sold-out crowd in Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre, reported NME.

Turning from wolves to jaguars, the beautiful Del Rey is now the face of luxury car brand Jaguar. Ads featuring the auburn singer promoting Jaguar’s new F-Type surfaced, but an automobile is nowhere in sight, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It is just Del Rey against serene backdrops pouting her famous lips. Read full story here…Lana Del Rey Leaked Tracks

Michelle Obama on the 1st Family’s sleep schedule…

Michelle Obama IvillageHere at the Huffington Post, we are all about sleep. So when we heard from our friends at iVillage that Michelle Obama is their guest editor this week and sharing her family’s sleep habits, we were interested. (Really, how does she always look so well-rested?) Here’s what she had to say about waking up ridiculously early and when the kids go to bed.

On waking up at 4:30 a.m.
“I get up so early. During the school year, I’m getting up early enough, oftentimes, to work out before the kids even get up so that I can get my “me time” and my head together. Five o’clock, sometimes 4:30 a.m.”

Prioritizing sleep.

”I cannot stay awake. It’s one of the reasons I’m missing reading. I can’t get into books, because if I’m sitting still and I slow down, I’m asleep.
So it’s rare that — if I do have trouble sleeping, it comes on the other end. Like, I’ll wake up at four in the morning. Read more here…

Kim Kardashian‘s closet gets a makeover…

Kim Kardashian ClosetWe’ve all been following Kim Kardashian‘s morphing wardrobe since she started dating Kanye West: the necklines have gone up, the heels have gone (slightly) down and all those bright colors have been sucked away in place of black, white, gray and more black.

The changing wardrobe, everyone conjectured, must be Kanye’s influence — he’s a bona fide designer these days with affinity for top models like Chanel Iman and Anja Rubik and top labels like Givenchy, Celine and Hermes. But did the rapper-turned-fashionista really make Kim change her whole wardrobe?

Yes, he actually did. The proof is in the newest episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” previewed in a new clip on E! Entertainment’s YouTube. Read more here…

Romney: “It’s for religious reasons”…

Mitt Romney has said that the reason he doesn’t want to release any more than two years of tax returns is that he doesn’t want to reveal how much he has ‘tithed’ to the Mormon church. Romney had previously said that he didn’t want to give the Obama campaign added ammunition to use against him.

But in an interview with Parade Magazine, he said there was a more benign explanation and it concerned the 10 per cent of his income – which represents many millions each year – that he gives to his church.

‘Our church doesn’t publish how much people have given,’ he said. ‘This is done entirely privately. One of the downsides of releasing one’s financial information is that this is now all public, but we had never intended our contributions to be known.”
